Phil Ivey has been referred to as the best poker player on the planet by many of the top-ranked professionals. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and moved to New Jersey before his first birthday. His papa taught him one cent-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From then on on, he was hooked on poker and wished to learn every little thing he possibly could about the game. He routinely would tell his elders that he wanted to be a professional poker player. He did not allow the adverse feedback from other people destroy his ambition of becoming one of the best poker competitors in the world.

Phil began playing intently after acquiring a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He sharpened his skills at the poker rooms in Atlantic City. The initial number of years for Phil were a learning opportunity and coming away with a win was not a regular outcome at the time. Phil became known at the 2000 World Series of Poker when he made two final tables and won his 1st World Series of Poker bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the last table he defeated a number of the well known pros including "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil decided to take his skills to the successive level and moved out west to Sin City. He continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players in the world. Ivey credits his achievements to hard work and an immeasurable passion for poker. He states that he’s learning every single day and is very humble about his achievements. He admits to making mistakes every single session of poker and constantly aspires to get better.

Despite the fact that Phil has won some big-time tournaments, he prefers winning cash games on a normal basis.
