Phil Ivey has been labeled as the best poker player on the globe by many of the top professionals. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to Jersey before reaching turning 1. His grandpa taught Phil one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From then on on, he was addicted to poker and wished to pickup whatever he could about poker. He routinely told his parents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil didn’t allow the adverse feedback from other people destroy his dream of being one of the greatest poker players on the planet.

He began playing intently after acquiring a false ID with the name of Jerome. He sharpened his skills at the casinos of Atlantic City. The initial number of years for Phil were a learning opportunity and coming away with a win was not a common outcome at the time. He became known at the 2000 World Series of Poker when he achieved two final tables and won his first WSOP bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the final table he defeated many of the better known pros including "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil decided to take his skills to the successive level and headed out west to Sin City. Phil continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Ivey credits his achievements to hard work and an immeasurable love for the game of poker. He says that he’s learning every day and is incredibly abashed about his accomplishments. Phil knows he makes mistakes in each session of poker and always strives to get better.

Although Phil has won some big tournaments, he prefers destroying money games on a regular basis.
