His grandfather showed him to one cent-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From then on on, he was addicted to poker and wished to discover everything he possibly could about poker. Phil routinely told his elders that he wanted to be a professional poker player. He did not permit the adverse comments from other people destroy his dream of becoming one of the greatest poker competitors on the planet.
He began playing intently after getting a fake ID with the name of Jerome. He practiced his techniques at the casinos of Atlantic City. The initial few years for him were a learning opportunity and winning wasn’t a normal outcome at the time. He became known at the 2000 WSOP when he achieved 2 final tables and came away with his first WSOP bracelet, in a two dollar, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the last table he defeated a number of the well known pros including "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
Phil made a decision to take his game to the next level and moved out west to Sin City. He continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players in the world. Phil credits his achievements to dedication and an undying love for poker. He says that he’s picking up skills every single day and is very abashed about his accomplishments. He knows he makes blunders every single session of poker and always strives to improve.
Despite the fact that Phil has won some large tournaments, he prefers destroying cash games on a normal basis.
