Texas Hold’em is simply about players and position. All rounded Texas Holdem players agree that seating in no limit Holdem is fundamentally important. Playing your hole cards in late position can be certainly more beneficial than in starting poker position. The reason because a whole lot more information is gathered right before acting.
e.g., I played in a $1-$2 no limit cash game at a local spot. I bumbled in holding 2, 9 unsuited on the dealer marker, just to partake in some fun. Flop came down A-A-4. A bettor in early position laid a $15 wager. Two entrants fold and it was my turn. I should have dropped out, but his betting seemed a little odd. I ID’d this contender as a weak-tight guy, and typically if he held the strongest hand he would simply check, so I called.
The turn arrived with a 7, meaning it was a A-A-4-7. My opposer placed a further wager of $20. I debated for a while, but took a chance to re-raise another $30thirty dollars on top of his $20. He folds and I take the chips.
Sitting at late position provides you an insight into where you stand by seeing how players react and wager. On the flip side, individuals at early position could use their poker position to check-raise the last positioned aggressors and corner them later at the end. In Texas Holdem, each ends, late and starting must be bet cautiously.
