Thursday, 14. February 2019
Phil Ivey has been branded as the best poker player on the planet by quite a few of the top-ranked pros. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and moved to NJ before his first birthday. His papa showed him to penny-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From then on on, Phil was addicted to poker and wanted to discover every little thing he could about the game. He routinely told his grandparents that he was going to be a professional poker player. Phil did not let the detrimental feedback from others annihilate his ambition of being one of the strongest poker players in the world.
He started competing intently after getting a false ID by the name of Jerome. He sharpened his skills at the poker rooms in Atlantic City. The initial few years for Phil were a learning opportunity and winning was not a regular outcome at the time. Phil became known at the 2000 WSOP when he made 2 final tables and won his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the last table he destroyed a number of the well known professionals which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
Phil made a decision to take his skills to the successive level and moved out west to Sin City. He continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players in the world. Ivey credits his success to dedication and an undying passion for the game of poker. Phil states that he’s learning every day and is quite abashed about his accomplishments. He knows he makes mistakes every single game of poker and always strives to get better.
Despite the fact that Phil has won some big-time tournaments, he prefers destroying money games on a normal basis.
