NL Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?
Monday, 11. September 2017
Phil Ivey has been branded as the best poker competitor on the globe by many of the top pros. He was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to New Jersey before his first birthday. His papa introduced him to penny-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From then on on, he was addicted to poker and wished to pickup every little thing he possibly could about the game. He would tell his elders that he was going to be a professional poker player. He did not let the negative feedback from other people kill his dream of becoming one of the best poker competitors in the world.
Phil began competing intently after acquiring a false ID with the name of Jerome. He sharpened his techniques at the poker rooms of Atlantic City. The first number of years for Phil were a learning period and winning was not a regular outcome at the time. Phil became known at the 2000 WSOP where he made 2 final tables and came away with his 1st WSOP bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the final table he defeated quite a few of the better known professionals which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
Phil decided to take his game to the next level and headed out west to Vegas. Phil continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Ivey credits his achievements to discipline and an eternal love for the game of poker. Phil says that he is learning every day and is incredibly abashed about his success. He knows he makes errors in each game of poker and always strives to get better.
Despite the fact that Phil has come first in some big-time tournaments, he favors winning money games on a normal basis.
